Valtesiniko is located in a dense forest of fir and chestnut trees, with a panoramic view and an altitude of 1150 m. The village has many stone houses and plenty of springs. The village has some fine old churches (Agios Georgios, Taxiarches, Agioi Theodoroi). There are also two monasteries in the village, the Monastery of the Holly Assumption (Analipseos) of the 17th century and the Monastery of Agios Nicholaos at the gorge right on the outskirts of the village, which is not in use today. When Ibrahim attacked the region, the monastery of Agios Nicholaos offered shelter to the villagers, due to its position. On the top of the village are the remains of the medieval castle. One km away from Valtesiniko ancient parts of fortifications and parts of a temple have been found. The temple, possibly of the 7th century BC, is believed to be dedicated to goddess Artemis. On 17 / 8 the revival of traditional threshing takes place. There are also festivals on St. George's name day and on the 8 /6, and 15 / 8.
