The beautiful and scenic village of Vachlia, is divided into two settlements, Vachlia and Pera Vachlia. The village is located in an environment rich in water. In the village the visitor can admire the fortified loft building, known as the Tower of Aga, which is now a residence. Among the two settlements of the village, there is an arched stone bridge and the water mill of Chantzios. On the way to Kontovazaina and only one kilometer away from Vachlia, there are ruins of an ancient settlement and foundations of a small ancient temple. Some scholars believe that this ancient settlement is Ancient Thaliades as reported by Pausanias. According to the ancient excursionist, the ancient town had a temple of Demeter of Eleusina with stone statues of Kori and Dionysus. Also, close to the village lies the historic monastery of Agia Paraskevi and is of special architectural interest.
