This is a beautiful traditional village in a superb location, at an altitude of 1150m. The village is built in a lush landscape between chestnut and fir tress. There are plenty of springs in Kosmas. In the main square with the plane trees lies the church of Agioi Anargiri. The village also has a folklore museum (open daily tel +302755031417). The beautiful stone houses, its beautiful mountain scenery and the magnificent view that extends to the sea, attract the visitors. The chapel of the Prophet Elias is built on the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to Apollo Maleata. Several interesting archaeological findings, including a brass statue of a male have been found in the area and are kept in the National Archaeological Museum. In the surrounding area, it is worth visiting the monastery of Elona, founded in the 14th century, which is built in a spectacular location on a vertical cliff.
