It is the Ancient Acropolis of Argos (height 289m.), which consists of Cyclopeian walls (1800 B.C.) in the middle - other Roman and Venetian walls have been built on the first ones. Near the walls, there is a little church of Agia Marina (1859 A.D.) built on the remains on the ancient temple of Zeus Larissaeos. On the slope and on the temple of Akraia Hera the church of Panagia Katakekrymmeni exists today. Near this church there were the ancient temples of Pythaeus Apollo and Athena Oxyderkis (king Akrisioss tomb).
