Andreas Maragos’s residence, 16 Belinou str.
Municipality of Argos
It is a bi-level stone-built building of the 1880s. The front side of the building is characteristic with the many eaves-footholds and mainly with the pseudo-pessaries, which are 8 on the whole. The equal in number capitals are imitations of ancient Ionic ones and they decorated with an anaglyph woman’s face. The capitals, the eaves-footholds and the edge-tiles are all indian red and create a very characteristic chromatic contrast with the main building.
The owner’s patisserie, who bought it in 1987 from the Kouros family, is lodged on the ground floor. The offices of an insurance company are lodged on the 1st floor.
