University of Peloponnisos

Known since the Middle Ages, Ano Karyes of the Megalopoli Municipality is built at a high altitude (around 1000 metres) near the archaeological sites of Mount Lykeon. The village has a folk art museum, a library, many spings, an old water mill and a scenic square. The area around the village is ideal for hiking, and excursions to the nearby archaeological sites. The village is widely known for the revival of the Lykaion Games every 4 years in August. Other celebrations include the annual festival on 20 / 7 and the festival of the last Saturday before the Pentecost.
