AGAMEMNON Hotel

Municipality of Argos

The building of the Hotel Agamemnon (at St Peter’s Square - Plateia Agiou Petrou) is a bi-level building, representative sample of neoclassic architecture. It was one of the first hotels of our city, known as hotel BYRON, as it was renamed by the posterior owner. The building does not function as a hotel any more. During the last few years it has lodged the offices of the political party “Nea Dimokratia”, until 1994. Today it belongs to Aggeliki Michalaki and the “Ethniki Asfalistiki” (National Insurance), the offices of which are lodged on the Groundfloor. It is one of the few neoclassic buildings, which have remained in the centre of the city of Argos. The building can be a point of reference and a remarkable sample of the neoclassic architecture of the city of Argos.
